Common Subaru Problems

Coloradans love Subarus. If you have ever been to Boulder, Colorado, then you know that there’s no shortage of Subaru lovers in that area. Because Subarus have all wheel drive, they are known to be one of the most reliable cars to drive in the rough winters that we endure here in Colorado. But with every wonderful car, there are some downfalls. Here are some of Subarus most common problems.

Leaky or broken head gaskets:

Subarus have never been good at providing reliable head gaskets, it seems to be an issue that repeats itself more often than not. With that being said, the models have improved over the years, but there are still some Subarus that trickle into our Subaru repair shop looking for help because of this issue.

Discontinued tires:

Like many vehicles out there, Subarus tires have been prone to popping in the past. With slow leaks and punctures causing issues for drivers, Subaru is constantly working to upgrade their tires to be better than the previous model’s. Those faulty tires often result in getting new tires, usually at the owner’s expense if a patch isn’t worth the trouble.

Knock sensor issues:

Knock sensors, just like the tires, have always seemed to be an issue with Subaru. For some reason, some sensors are malfunctioning. This not only hurts the performance of your engine, but you won’t be able to get good gas mileage either.
