People throughout the Denver Metro area have a love/hate relationship with winter. Some people love winter, as long as it snows, but aren’t willing to go drive through it. And others love summer, in fact, many could skip winter and be a’okay with it! No matter what your beliefs about winter may be, there’s no escaping the ice-chipped, slippery roads that Mother Nature has so peacefully covered. Because of this, the transmission repair team at Urban Autocare has created a list of how to prepare yourself, including your car, for winter.

• Emergency Kit. There’s no doubt about it, you may be presented with an emergency. You can either be prepared for it or not. One of the easiest ways to stay prepared for anything is by carrying an emergency kit with you everywhere you go. This kit should include items such as a flashlight with extra batteries, a shovel, a roll of paper towels, a blanket, a cell phone with a charged battery, flares or triangles, extra windshield wiper fluid, booster cables, a few floor mats, and a small bag of kitty litter or sand you can use to gain traction.

Although many people believe that keeping an emergency kit in your car is a no-brainer, there a some folks out there who don’t think it’s necessary. If you want to be prepared for anything, it’s critical that you give yourself the opportunity, and that’s by keeping an emergency kit in your car.
