It depends. Your service interval will vary depending on the make and model of your vehicle, its age, and how you drive your auto. If you’re more of a pedal to the metal type, then you’ll need to give your car reprieve with more tune-ups. If you’re simply using your car to hop on the freeway for a quick drive to work everyday, then you aren’t placing much stress on your vehicle’s systems, and you won’t need tune-ups so often. Consult your mechanic for advice on a good service interval, or take a look at your owner’s manual to see the recommended mileage between intervals. Most vehicles require tune-ups every 30,000 miles (for older vehicles) to 100,000 miles (for the newest vehicles on the market). That said, you should have an oil change performed more regularly (every 3,000 to 7,500 miles, depending on your vehicle model and how you use the car).

Again, it depends. Your owner’s manual will have a recommendation for tuneup intervals for your vehicle. That said, how you drive your car is just as important as the recommended interval. If you push your engine, or you’re constantly taking your ride off-road, you’ll need more regular maintenance services. Nowadays, however, some manufacturers are pushing for longer and longer service intervals, sometimes up to 100,000 miles for various components. We recommend that you still bring your car into the shop regularly (more often than every 100,000 miles to be sure), just to have us take a look under the hood — because the fact of the matter is this: You never know when a component will break or wear out, no matter how long its manufacturer intended for it to last. It never hurts to have consistent tune-ups and checks to ensure that you’re driving a safe vehicle with components that will continue to lend themselves to the longevity of your ride.
